Dr. Shikher Singla is a general practitioner and co-owner of Ocean Avenue Veterinary Hospital.

Dr. Caroline Kim

Dr. Caroline Kim joined the staff at Ocean Avenue Veterinary Hospital in the fall of 2019. As a 7-year-old girl, she always had dreams of becoming a veterinarian. A native of San Francisco, Dr. Kim attended Lowell High School. During her summers, she volunteered for her very first job as a kennel assistant right here at Ocean Avenue Veterinary Hospital. She remembers working late hours cleaning cages and feeding the hospitalized patients back when Dr. McElroy owned the practice.
She went on to pursue her undergraduate career at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. In 1992 she graduated cum laude from the pre-medical program with a Bachelor’s degree in Science. She majored in Biology and minored in Chemistry. She returned to California to attend veterinary school at the University of California at Davis. She received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1996.

Dr. Kim has a particular interest in surgery. She completed a surgical externship at the Animal Medical Center in New York in 1995. She is certified in performing Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy (TPLO) cases and has a great interest in orthopedics. She also received training in laparoscopic surgery at the Oquendo Center in Las Vegas.

Before coming to Ocean Avenue Veterinary Hospital, Dr. Kim worked for almost 20 years in the Marina-Pacific Heights neighborhood. After a large corporation bought her hospital, she decided to look for another practice owned and operated by veterinarians. She came full circle when she met Dr. Singla and found her new work family at Ocean Avenue Veterinary Hospital. She believes that this practice has done a great job of keeping up its close ties to the local community. It has a warm, neighborhood feel while maintaining a high quality of service, along with futuristic upgrades in technology.

Dr. Kim is a member of the California Veterinary Medical Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association, and is APHIS certified. When she is not caring for her patients, Dr. Kim spends time with her human family and her two orange cats at her home in San Francisco.

Dr. Fady Baskharon

Dr. Fady Baskharon is a compassionate small animal veterinarian dedicated to providing high-quality, personalized care for pets and their families. With a strong background in preventative care, internal medicine, dentistry, surgery and urgent care, Dr. Fady strives to support every pet’s health through each stage of life — from puppy and kitten wellness to senior care.

After veterinary training from Alexandria, Egypt, Dr. Fady has practiced in a variety of settings, honing his skills. Known for a calm bedside manner and clear communication, Dr. Fady partners closely with pet owners to make informed, compassionate decisions for their companions.

Dr. Fady believes in building trust and ensuring that every visit is a positive experience — for both pets and the people.

Visiting Cardiologist

Dr. Lori Drourr

Dr. Lori Drourr graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 1996. She spent 9 years working in general practice prior to returning to academia to pursue her passion for cardiology. Following her residency at Texas A&M University, she achieved board certification from the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) and became a Diplomate of the ACVIM in the College of Cardiology. As a specialist, she has worked in private specialty practice and as an associate professor at the University of Guelph, Ontario Veterinary College. Dr. Drourr has lectured at local and national meetings, including the ACVIM, AVMA, AHAA, and the SFVMA. She has facilitated veterinary staff training and participated in building a cardiology webinar that has reached more than 2000 veterinarians worldwide. She also collaborated with the veterinarians at the San Francisco and Oakland Zoos, studying dilated cardiomyopathy in meerkats. She continues to volunteer her time at the San Francisco Zoo as needed.

Dr. Drourr has published articles, presented her research on cats with and without murmurs, and contributed to the book The ABCDs of Small Animal Cardiology, A Practical Manual.

She’s a veterinarian by trade, a windsurfer, and a water woman by heart. Her favorite place in the world is Crissy Field – the beauty of the Bay Area captured in a single snapshot. Happiness is captured in the playful patterns of sand-filled paw prints.

Dr. Wachiraporn Kanil

I graduated with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Chiang Mai University in Thailand in 2008 and earned a Master of Science in Veterinary Surgery from Chulalongkorn University in 2011. I spent 14 years working in private practice, focusing on general practice and soft tissue surgery in Bangkok and Chiang Mai, before pursuing the AVMA ECFVG program and obtaining my California Veterinary Medical Board license in January 2025. I joined Ocean Ave Veterinary Hospital in October 2025. Outside of work, I enjoy exploring new cities, hiking, experiencing gourmet cuisine, and photography.

Dr. Joohee Lee

She earned her DVM degree from the University of California, Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 2025, after completing a Bachelor of Science in Animal Sciences at UC Davis in 2019.

Before returning to UC Davis for veterinary school, Dr. Lee worked as a veterinary technician at Ocean Avenue Veterinary Hospital, where she developed a strong foundation in patient care and client communication and discovered a passion for clinical medicine. She is excited to return to the hospital as a veterinarian and continue serving the community.

Originally from Seoul, South Korea, Dr. Lee is committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care. Outside of the hospital, she enjoys spending time with her five-year-old Labrador Retriever, Ara.

Dr. Colleen Leung

She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Royal Veterinary College in London in 2025, after completing a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science at the University of California, Davis in 2019.

Born and raised in San Francisco, Dr. Leung is excited to return home and serve the community she grew up in. Prior to veterinary school, she worked as a veterinary technician at Ocean Avenue Veterinary Hospital and Urban Pet Hospital, where she built a strong foundation in patient care and client communication.

After spending several years in London for veterinary school, Dr. Leung is thrilled to be back in the Bay Area and is looking forward to getting a dog of her own. She is passionate about providing compassionate, evidence-based care and developing lasting relationships with clients and their pets.

Hani Korani

Dr. Hani Korani completed his small animal surgery residency at North Carolina State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, where he learned the technical skills and confidence to perform complicated and intricate surgeries.
Previously, Dr. Korani has been a staff surgeon in private practices in North Carolina, Texas, and Hawaii. He had also spent some time in academia as an Assistant Professor of Small Animal Surgery at Tuskegee University.

Dr. Korani’s surgical interests include complex orthopedics surgeries, including fracture repair, bone & joint surgery, sports injuries, TPLO/TTA, corrective skeletal deformities, reconstructive skin & wound surgery & management. He is also skilled in Abdominal, Cardiovascular, Thoracic, Neurosurgery & minimally invasive procedures that include Laparoscopy, Thoracoscopy, Endoscopy & Fluoroscopic surgery.

He enjoys spending time with his two young children and, when time allows, also enjoys reading, and working out at the gym.

Office Manager

Kelly

Kelly is our office manager and has been with us since December of 2013. Since a kid, she has always had a great passion and love for all animals. She loved playing with puppies, kittens, chickens, lizards, and anything that moved :P. She has always been an animal fanatic and loves being home with her fur babies, Apollo (Rottweiler) and Gabbana (Pomeranian).
