Please review the below information after your pet’s visit
After your pet has undergone surgery, diligent attention to the following instructions is vital to a speedy recovery while minimizing complications.
Your pet has had a comprehensive oral health assessment & treatment (dental cleaning) performed today. Due to the use of general anesthesia, drowsiness and lethargy are to be expected for the next 12-24 hours.
If dental extractions were performed, you may notice blood-tinged saliva as well, this is normal. Sutures will fall out on their own in a few days.
When you arrive home, allow your pet to rest comfortably away from other animals, stairs, and small children. At mealtime, we recommend feeding soft food for the next 2-3 days. This can be achieved by either offering canned wet food or adding water to their normal kibble & allowing the kibbles to soften for a few minutes before feeding. You may offer water normally. If medications were dispensed, you may begin the first dose with their first meal.
You may resume normal activity the following day.
