Rebecca MeliseRebecca Melise has been the Office Manager for Ocean Avenue Veterinary Hospital since June of 2008, but began working in the animal care field in 1998. When asked what she enjoys most about her work, she says, “I enjoy the daily interactions with clients and their pets.”

Rebecca has a Boxer named Seven and two cats named Whitestuff and Maya. Her interests include hiking, camping, reading, music, traveling, horseback riding, going to the beach, and spending time with her pets.

Susan NyitraiSusan Nyitrai is a Registered Veterinary Technician who has been a member of the Ocean Avenue Veterinary Hospital staff since 2007. In addition to her years of experience, she has a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from the University of California-Davis and an Associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology from Foothill College.

Asked what she likes best about her work, Susan simply says, “I love working with the pets and their owners.”

At home, she has an Afghan Hound named Carson and a Pharaoh Hound named Lexi. Susan’s interests include walking with her dogs along the beach and gardening.

John Bautista is a Receptionist at Ocean Avenue Veterinary Hospital since March of 2011, but has worked in the animal care field since 2006. He is currently attending City College of San Francisco and plans on transferring to one of the state universities to study Physical Rehabilitation.

His pets include a Pitbull named Safari and a Dachshund/Chihuahua mix named MJ. John’s interests include exploring new places and playing basketball.

Mike MuhlenkampVeterinary Assistant Mike Muhlenkamp has been with Ocean Avenue Veterinary Hospital since 1980.

“Over the years I’ve seen the hospital grow and improve,” he says. “Many of the pet owners are now counted as my friends.”

Mike has two cats named Mia and Georgie. He is also an avid chess player.

Gil F. RodasGil F. Rodas has been a Veterinary Assistant with Ocean Avenue Veterinary Hospital since June of 1992. He has a Yorkshire Terrier named Hercules.

Jeanette RamirezReceptionist and Veterinary Assistant Jeanette Ramirez has been a member of the Ocean Avenue Veterinary Hospital staff since September of 2008 and started her career in companion animal care in 2006.

She says the best part of her job is interacting with the clients and patients.

At home, Jeanette has a Siamese cat named Kiki and an American Staffordshire Terrier named French Fry. Her interests include playing music, school, going on tour, baking the impossible, learning new things and hanging out with her pets.

Victoria KartashovaVictoria Kartashova is a Veterinary Assistant who has been with Ocean Avenue Veterinary Hospital since March of 2011. She is also a graduate of the Voronezh State Agriculture University of KD Glinka in Voronezh, Russia.

She says she enjoys all aspects of her job and is grateful that her work with us is the first step toward becoming a veterinarian one day.

Victoria has a cat named Marusya and while living in Russia she bred exotic shorthair cats and assisted judges during cat shows. Her interests include photography, horseback riding, and spending time with her friends.
