Boarding Your Pet at Ocean Avenue Veterinary Hospital
When traveling for business or taking your family on vacation there is a lot to do and enough stress without having to worry about who is going to take care of your beloved animal companion. Rather than impose on a neighbor or rely on a pet sitter with little animal care training, Ocean Avenue Veterinary Hospital can provide your pet with a safe, comfortable and fun place to stay while you are away.
Dogs and cats are kept in separate areas of our boarding facility for their mutual comfort. Dogs also have indoor runs and are exercised outside twice daily. We allow our clients to bring food for their pet if they believe their animal would be more comfortable. Otherwise, we provide our guests with Hills Prescription diet. You are also welcome to bring your pet’s favorite toy or any other personal item that will help him or her be more comfortable.
For dogs that stay with us three or more nights, we will give him or her a bath before they are released to you.
We do ask that you make a reservation for your pet ahead of time. We also require all of our guests to be up to date on their vaccines. For dogs, we require DHPP/DHLPP, Bordetella, rabies, and a recent clear fecal test for internal parasites. Cats are required to have FVRCP, rabies, Felv/Fiv, and a recent clear fecal test for internal parasites.
Great Pet Grooming
Grooming is more than just a bit of pet pampering; it is an important step in keeping your pet happy and healthy by preventing disease. For example, a regular bath and nail trim help remove harmful germs from the fur and paws that are picked up as your dog plays outside and provides a great opportunity for the groomer to notice dried or cracked paw pads or skin issues.
From seeing so many happy dogs and cats walk out of our grooming area, we also know that a good bath and brush makes your pet feel great and adds to his or her wellbeing.
We offer full grooming services for all breeds of medium size dogs and cats and our groomer, John Ang, has more than 15 years of grooming experience. John is an animal lover to the extreme and an avid animal activist as well as a member of PETA. He believes in the quality of life for all living beings, especially our furry friends and he is eminently kind and patient with all of his grooming clients.
